Vendors selected for the “Cool Vendor” report are interesting, new and innovation

June 10, 2019 – SPARKS, Nevada – Leading2Lean (L2L), creator of the Lean Execution System software CloudDISPATCH that provides manufacturers with critical real-time and actionable data, has been named one of four "Cool Vendors" in the May 2019 Cool Vendors in Manufacturing Operations report by Gartner, Inc.

According to Gartner, “This year’s Cool Vendors in Manufacturing Operations features four vendors that combine advanced analytics, IIoT and cloud computing. The combined offerings provide innovative and user-friendly approaches to improving process capabilities and make faster and better-informed decisions/trade- offs across a decentralized set of stakeholders.”

The report states, “Manufacturers are faced with multiple pressures from the changing labor force and customer demands. Digitization of manufacturing operations impacts the factory workforce and jobs will disappear.”

“This shift in the manufacturing workforce, which has gone unattended for over a decade, has left organizations scrambling for new tools that create better ways to empower and support the manufacturing workforce. While the allure of artificial intelligence and machine learning is strong, these technologies are not going to solve production problems today, nor are they likely to ever replace the need for a skilled workforce.”

A surprising one-third (32%) of Generation Z has had manufacturing suggested to them as a career option, compared to only 18% for Millennials and 13% for the general population.
