Leading2Lean (L2L) Named a "Cool Vendor" in Manufacturing Operations by Gartner

Vendors selected for the “Cool Vendor” report are interesting, new and innovation

June 10, 2019 – SPARKS, Nevada – Leading2Lean (L2L), creator of the Lean Execution System software CloudDISPATCH that provides manufacturers with critical real-time and actionable data, has been named one of four "Cool Vendors" in the May 2019 Cool Vendors in Manufacturing Operations report by Gartner, Inc.

According to Gartner, “This year’s Cool Vendors in Manufacturing Operations features four vendors that combine advanced analytics, IIoT and cloud computing. The combined offerings provide innovative and user-friendly approaches to improving process capabilities and make faster and better-informed decisions/trade- offs across a decentralized set of stakeholders.”

“We are incredibly honored to be included as a Cool Vendor in Gartner’s Cool Vendors in Manufacturing Operations report this year,” says Keith Barr, CEO and President of L2L. “We feel it’s a confirmation that the work we are doing to elevate our clients to a new level of efficiency is working, and we credit that success to focusing first and foremost on the plant floor.”

The report states, “Manufacturers are faced with multiple pressures from the changing labor force and customer demands. The labor force is aging and significant expertise is leaving with the retiring workers. Customers are expecting increased agility and flexibility at higher quality and lower cost. Digitization of manufacturing operations impacts the factory workforce and jobs will disappear.”

“This shift in the manufacturing workforce, which has gone unattended for over a decade, has left organizations scrambling for new tools that create better ways to empower and support the manufacturing workforce. While the allure of artificial intelligence and machine learning is strong, these technologies are not going to solve production problems today, nor are they likely to ever replace the need for a skilled workforce.”

L2L has been at the forefront of staying in tune to the industry’s needs, particularly from a workforce perspective.

“We provide workers will tools, not tasks,” says Barr. “In the end, the beneficiary is our clients. Focusing on the plant floor worker is at the core of everything we do. We ensure they are empowered by providing them with valuable and real-time data, in turn engendering a culture of improvement and innovation. An invigorated workforce leads to increased ROI, and a better bottom line for all.”

L2L just recently launched its annual Manufacturing Index that measures the American public’s perceptions of U.S. manufacturing. The survey found an incredible opportunity for manufacturers who are facing challenges in filling roles to tap into the up and coming Generation Z workforce. A surprising one-third (32%) of Generation Z has had manufacturing suggested to them as a career option, compared to only 18% for Millennials and 13% for the general population.
