Frequently asked questions about L2L for operations teams

Which systems does L2L integrate with?

L2L integrates with ERP, MES, EAM/CMMS, production scheduling tools, SCADA/OPC, IIoT, and BI tools, and nearly all industrial data, including QMS, LMS, safety, and EH&S, can be integrated. Your L2L contact can confirm the current connectors for your specific systems.

Where does data live, and who owns the source of truth?

L2L is single-tenant, so customer data isn’t co-mingled. It’s encrypted in transit and at rest and stored on AWS or AWS GovCloud. Your ERP keeps owning financial and planning data, and L2L holds the real-time execution data.

What does the access-control and permission model look like?

Administrators set role-based rights by module. For example, Scheduler and Document Control each have separate manager and author roles, and a systems manager role covers administration.

Is the integration bespoke per site, or repeatable across our footprint?

Sites connect through the same integration types, so your team isn’t designing a new approach each time. Oetiker went from one pilot plant to all ten facilities.

What security and compliance documentation is available for internal sign-off?

L2L’s compliance programs are based on SOC 2 Type 2 and NIST 800-171, and L2L received LNS Research’s highest rating for Security & Privacy. L2L supports customer compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 13485, ISO 55000, ITAR, DFARS, GDPR, and CCPA. The Privacy Policy, Cloud Services Agreement, and Data Processing Addendum are published in our Trust Center.

How long does a typical integration take to implement?

Standard implementation takes 14 to 60 days with no rip-and-replace. Integration timing depends on the systems involved.
