L2L Acquires SwipeGuide: The Future of the Connected Workforce Is Here

July 28, 2020
LEHI, Utah – July 28, 2020 – Purple Innovation, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRPL) (“Purple”), the leader in comfort innovation and the creator of the renowned Purple® Mattress, has experienced high demand and growth while achieving measurable improvements in their maintenance and production processes. The improvements have garnered Purple the 2020 Operational Excellence and Manufacturing Innovation award given by L2L.
Purple hired L2L to deploy their Lean Execution System (LES) platform that could scale with
Purple’s growth and allow both leadership and the workforce to have a real-time pulse on plant floor operations.
Purple started using the LES platform to manage maintenance, and then expanded its use to the production process. The platform was implemented in weeks instead of months due to the increasing demand for Purple’s proprietary comfort products, including mattresses, pillows, and seat cushions.
The 22-month improvement metrics from Purple’s use of L2L’s technology includes:
“The system has given our employees the tools to see the highest impact opportunities for
improvement and a way to visually see the impact of actions taken to address them,”
said Andrew Clarke, Purple’s VP of Engineering & Manufacturing.
As Purple addressed how to scale manufacturing operations, the organization sought to change their process. Instead of implementing homegrown processes, Purple’s leadership team chose to leverage industry best practices so their production facilities would be as innovative as their products. The company was growing fast, and they needed their plant floor to match that speed.
“Purple is a fantastic example of what smart, effective manufacturing will look like in the future,” said Keith Barr, CEO of L2L. “This is an example of a 21st century approach to manufacturing that will push the industry forward and, ultimately, make it more competitive.”
