In 2023, L2L conducted two surveys focusing on the state of
modern manufacturing work, one highlighting the state of digital transformation and the other uncovering the experience of today’s frontline workers. Both surveys led us to the same conclusion: that connected technologies significantly improved productivity, efficiency, and morale on the factory floor.

This year, we conducted a new survey in partnership with Kickstand Communications that gathered data from 600+ respondents across all levels of manufacturing. The survey focuses on three key concerns of modern manufacturing:

    1. The ongoing labor crisis
    2. The state of workplace communication
    3. The impact of digital technologies on the shop floor

The survey respondents included workers from a wide range of age groups, education levels, ethnic backgrounds, and job types and levels — from frontline workers to corporate leaders. Additionally, most respondents had at least five years of experience in the manufacturing field.

Our survey data uncovers game-changing insights for today's manufacturers, including the impact of skilled worker turnover, the advantages of digitizing collaboration and knowledge sharing, and even the anticipated benefits of generative AI on the shop floor.

Here's a sneak peek of the game-changing information you'll find in our report:
