In under two years, Purple achieves award-winning manufacturing improvements for its USA-made comfort products
LEHI, Utah – July 28, 2020 – Purple Innovation, Inc. The improvements have garnered Purple the 2020 Operational Excellence and Manufacturing Innovation award given by L2L.
Purple hired L2L to deploy their Lean Execution System (LES) platform that could scale with
Purple’s growth and allow both leadership and the workforce to have a real-time pulse on plant floor operations.
Purple started using the LES platform to manage maintenance, and then expanded its use to the production process. The platform was implemented in weeks instead of months due to the increasing demand for Purple’s proprietary comfort products, including mattresses, pillows, and seat cushions.
The 22-month improvement metrics from Purple’s use of L2L’s technology includes:
- 52% reduction in equipment failures
- 45% reduction in equipment downtime
- 1400% increase in completed preventive maintenance events
- 42% increase in on-time completion of preventive maintenance events
